The power of the ruling party was once again seen in the elections of the Municipal Corporation Executive in Bareilly. Six members have been elected unopposed. Five BJP and one SP councillors have joined the Municipal Corporation Executive.
The process of election of the executive committee held in Bareilly on Saturday began in the auditorium (House) at 11 am in the presence of Mayor Umesh Gautam and Municipal Commissioner Nidhi Gupta Vats. First of all, slips were put in the lottery system to remove six out of the 12 members included in the executive. After this, slips of Meera Devi, Nidhi Saxena, Rampal Gangwar, Sita Patel, Aleem Khan and Arendra Arora were drawn. These councilors were removed from the executive committee.
After this, five councillors from BJP and one from SP were the first to file nomination papers to join the new executive. Apart from this, no other form was filed and BJP’s Narendra Singh, Santosh Kashyap, Ritika Kishore, Harishankar Lodhi, Anju Gangwar along with SP’s Oman Khan were elected unopposed as six members of the executive. During this, Deputy Chairman Sarvesh Rastogi, Metropolitan President of Rashtra Jagran Udyog Vyapar Mandal Vishal Mehrotra, who were present in the election process, congratulated the newly elected executive members.
